Our Story
Every girl deserves to step into adolescence with confidence, dignity, and support. Yet too many girls grow up without access to the most basic tools—like a properly fitting bra, accurate information about their bodies, or the products they need to manage their periods. The result? Missed school days, lowered self-esteem, and a cycle of silence around topics that should be empowering, not shameful. Uplifting Our Girls (UOG) was born from a simple but powerful belief: confidence starts with the right fit.
Founded in Atlanta and led by Georgia State Representative Kim Schofield, UOG creates safe, joyful spaces where girls ages 9–17—and the parents and caregivers who support them—can learn, ask questions, and celebrate every stage of growing up.
Through hands-on workshops, confidence kits, and peer and parent ambassador programs, we meet girls where they are with compassion and cultural sensitivity. Our work blends practical tools with affirming experiences, helping girls replace confusion with clarity, stigma with pride, and self-doubt with self-confidence.
From our very first “Uplift & Flow” workshop in 2025 to the growing network of schools, parents, and community partners we serve today, our story is rooted in the voices of girls themselves. We are here to make sure every girl feels seen, supported, and celebrated—because when girls thrive, communities rise.
