Our Story
Every girl deserves to enter adolescence with confidence, dignity, and support. Yet many girls grow up without basic tools like a properly fitting bra, accurate information about their bodies, or products they need for their periods. This leads to missed school days, lower self-esteem, and a culture of silence around topics that should empower, not shame. Uplifting Our Girls (UOG) started with a simple but powerful belief: confidence begins with the right fit.
Founded in Atlanta and led by Georgia State Representative Kim Schofield, UOG creates safe and joyful spaces for girls ages 9 to 17, along with the parents and caregivers who support them. Here, they can learn, ask questions, and celebrate every stage of growing up.
Through hands-on workshops, confidence kits, and programs for peer and parent ambassadors, we meet girls where they are with compassion and cultural sensitivity. Our work combines practical tools with positive experiences. We help girls replace confusion with clarity, stigma with pride, and self-doubt with self-confidence.
From our very first “Uplift & Flow” workshop in 2025 to the growing network of schools, parents, and community partners we serve today, our story is rooted in the voices of the girls themselves. We are here to ensure every girl feels seen, supported, and celebrated. When girls thrive, communities flourish..
